Modern slavery is an abhorrent violation and abuse of fundamental human rights. All businesses have a responsibility to be alert to the risks of slavery and human trafficking. Zen Recruitment believe that it is essential that commerce in today’s society does not partake in or benefit from the exploitation of any individual or group. Zen have a zero-tolerance to any violation of Human Rights and adheres to and promotes the highest ethical standards and compliance in relation to modern slavery legislation.

Zen Recruitment are a specialist technical Recruitment agency providing labour hire and recruitment services in the Global Technical, Digital, Life Sciences and Automotive sectors, servicing companies in the UK, Europe, and the USA. Zen Recruitment is a wholly owned Limited Company registered exclusively in the United Kingdom.

Zen Recruitment is a leading workforce solutions provider, our business is primarily comprised of providing specialist candidates to our clients. Zen undertakes extensive due diligence when working with management companies (umbrella companies) by verifying company structure, compliance with local laws, and onboarding processes. Our supply chains include:

  • independent contractors;
  • personal service companies;
  • umbrella companies;

Compliance with the policy

We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business. We are committed to preventing, detecting, and reporting of modern-day slavery in any part of our business or supply chain. Furthermore, we are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in any of our supply chains.

Due diligence and risk assessment in the supply chain

  • Zen Recruitment is committed to continuously improving its global compliance practices in order to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking across the business.
  • We offer audited and compliant service provider options within our supply chain and retain the authority to deny any nominated service provider if we believe they do not comply with our policies or standards.
  • Where risk factors are raised or engaging with a third party, Zen Recruitment conducts a thorough Due Diligence Process according to its standards and policies.
  • Continuously monitor any risk areas.
  • Effective system in place to safeguard and protect whistle-blowers.

Training

Zen Recruitment is constantly refining and developing its practices to prevent modern day slavery and human trafficking across the business. To ensure optimum understanding of these issues we provide training to relevant members of staff. We also encourage our business partners to provide training to their staff, suppliers, and providers.  

Next Steps

To date Zen Recruitment have had no complaints of or identified instances of modern slavery or human trafficking. We use the following KPI’s to understand and mitigate our level of risk.

  • Regular audits and reviews of team members, managers, directors and third-party suppliers to reinforce awareness of our policies and maintain compliance.
  • Ensuring all third-party suppliers have been audited and provided us with a statement of their compliance with the requirement of the Modern Slavery Act 2015
  • Monitoring of contractual terms
  • Continuous due diligence of all third-party suppliers.
  • Ensure that all sales employees are provided with up-to-date training on identifying and responding to any potential issues relevant to the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31 March 2020.
